We've been pushing for a more accessible Lake Washington Boulevard for two years, and we're not stopping now!
Thanks to your advocacy, we recently secured $400,000 in funding from the new Parks District budget, which will be used to implement the final design for the street that comes from recommendations made by the Community Task Force -- representatives convened by the city that will help shape permanent improvements based on the results of the recent survey administered, and guide further outreach.
Over 3,000 people have signed on in support of a Lake Washington Boulevard that provides more space and access for people walking, rolling and biking. Possible solutions include closing the street to cars entirely, maintaining one direction of vehicle traffic and creating a shared-use path on the other side of the street, or other.
